Unlimited Power

What do you think is the greatest exhibit of power in the history of mankind? When asked, some responded by: the atomic bomb at Hiroshima, the first flight to the moon and back, the great pyramids of Egypt, the space station.

What would you say is the event that most changed history? When asked, some people responded with the following: Start of World War One, the Russian Revolution, Start of WW II, Bombing of Pearl Harbor, World Trade Center tragedy Sept. 11, 2001. These answers seem quite myopic, in that all of them occurred in the 20th century. No one mentioned the discovery of fire, the invention of the wheel!

But we as Christians know that the greatest exhibit of power is the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. How can the power necessary for such an accomplishment be measured? To what can it be compared? It cannot be measured or even comprehended. This same power that was present at the resurrection of Jesus will be present at the resurrection of our bodies. What a glorious thought! Paul says in Ephesians 1:8 and following; “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope of which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of His mighty strength which He exerted in Christ when He raised him from the dead….” Now that is some great power! It cannot be equaled in our lifetime. It will only be equaled when we are raised at the rapture of the church. Praise His name. Our faith is grounded in a threefold truth: Christ has died! Christ is risen! Christ will come again!
